About this place
MASP is a private, non-profit institution founded in 1947. The museum occupies two buildings and an open-air span between them. The original building, from 1968, is named after the architect Lina Bo Bardi. The building opened in 2024 honors Pietro Maria Bardi, the museum's first artistic director.
